Visibility and Logging

Visibility and Logging is the set of Cloud Secure Edge (CSE) tools that record, summarize, and let administrators review activity across their organization.
Because CSE brokers access for users and devices that are often off the corporate network, the traditional network gateway is no longer a single point of visibility. These tools restore that visibility by capturing end-user activity, administrator actions, and the public applications employees use, so that access can be audited, reviewed, and secured.
How visibility and logging works
CSE gathers activity from across the service and presents it through several purpose-built views:
- The Events Viewer lets administrators filter and explore individual security events tied to end-user activity, such as registration, identity, access, and trust-scoring events.
- The Reporting Dashboard aggregates that event data into high-level visualizations of access activity, access patterns, and TrustScore intelligence.
- The System Log records administrator actions taken through the CSE API or web console for auditing purposes.
- Public Application Discovery records end users’ DNS requests to surface the public applications employees access, which can then be secured.
Choosing the right view
- Use the Events Viewer to investigate specific end-user activity in detail.
- Use the Reporting Dashboard to review summarized trends and organization-wide activity.
- Use the System Log to audit administrator actions over time.
- Use Public Application Discovery to identify public applications in use across your organization.
