Securing RDP Servers with Banyan

  • Updated on Jun 01, 2023

This article describes features that are only available in the Banyan Enterprise edition and Banyan Unlimited edition.

Overview

Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) is a proprietary protocol developed by Microsoft which provides a user with a graphical interface to connect to a Windows computer over a network connection. The user employs RDP client software for this purpose, while the other computer must run RDP server software.

In its standard configuration, Banyan treats RDP just as it does any other TCP Service, using Mutually Authenticated TLS (MTLS) flows to provide secure Zero Trust access.
